NEWLAND WD2: Wearable Barcode Scanner at the Back of the Hand
Efficient workflows without interruptions: The small WD2 wearable barcode scanner from Newland saves time and enhances productivity. In the past, workers had to pick up a handheld scanner for each scan. With the WD2 wearable scanner, they can focus on the work at hand without distraction. All common bar codes and matrix codes can be reliably captured, even if they are poorly printed or damaged. The WD2 also enables the capture of high-density barcodes.
Data acquisition made easy: The WD2 scanner weighs only 43 grams. By means of quick click docking magnets, it can be simply attached to a hand strap. The small unit is additionally held in place by an elastic strap. A trigger button, which is located on the side of the index finger, can be conveniently reached with the thumb. A clearly visible laser aimer with crosshairs (standard-range model) or with a red dot (mid-range model) makes it easy to select and capture barcodes in the vicinity or at a further distance. Once a barcode has been read, visual, audible and haptic feedback is provided. The hand strap is available in two sizes for right-handed and left-handed users. It is possible to wear it over a glove.
Scan engine for short or for longer distances: Two models of the WD2 wearable scanner are available: a standard-range version for close range and a mid-range version for longer distances of up to 3.5 m. Therefore, it is possible to choose the barcode reader in accordance with the application field.
Data communication: The WD2 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and can be connected to other Bluetooth-enabled devices. It is also possible to connect the barcode reader to a PC via a data cable. The included software EasySet ensures quick and easy configuration.
Battery and chargers: The battery of the WD2 scanner lasts for more than 8 hours even when it is used for scan-intensive applications. With the CD50 charging station, the battery is fully recharged in less than 2 hours. The CD50 charging station provides a multi-dock option. It can be flexibly connected with maximum 4 stations. This allows up to 10 scan units to be charged via a single power supply.
Robust wearable: The Newland WD2 barcode reader is sturdy. It can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 m and is protected against dust and water in accordance with protection class IP65.
Accessories: Multi-slot charging station CD50, electronic hand strap EHS
