The particularly bright (700 cd/m²), low-reflective 7” display can be conveniently viewed, irrespective of lighting conditions. It can be operated with gloves (glove-mode) or when the surface is wet (rain-mode). It also supports a capacitive stylus pen for data or signature input (optional). This makes the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 a truly useful tool for outdoor tasks.

Due to its magnesium casing with protective corner guards, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 is extremely durable. It can withstand drops from a height of 1.8 m. The highly robust tablet computer is rated IP65, sealed against dust and water jets. The temperature range reaches from -29 °C to +60 °C. A strong, user-exchangeable battery and smart energy management make sure there is enough energy for approximately 8 hours. Optionally, there is an even more powerful high capacity battery with up to 18 hours runtime available. Together with the business expansion module a hot-swap battery option enables battery change during operation.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 Standard model is equipped with an up to 3.3 GHz high-performance and energy saving Intel Core i5-7Y57 vPro processor with 4 GB RAM (opt. 8 GB RAM) and 128 GB SSD (opt. 256 GB SSD) storage. The Value model comes with an Intel Celeron N4100 with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB eMMC storage. Comfortable use is ensured with the Microsoft Windows 10 Pro operating system. Memory can be extended with microSD/SDXC card. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 WLAN (Value model: Wireless-AC 9560) and Bluetooth 4.1 + EDR Class I for reliable connectivity may be complemented with optional 4G mobile broadband.

The thin (18 mm) and lightweight (approx. 540g) rugged Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 tablet is exceedingly flexible. For the configuration port, there is a choice of several options: serial port, LAN port, 2D barcode reader or USB 2.0 (Value model: no serial port option). Additionally, a business expansion module offers a hot-swap function and a range of features to choose from. The Standard version can be equipped with NFC, smartcard reader, UHF RFID reader, LAN + serial port, SD + serial port, an Intel RealSense 3D camera or a FLIR thermal imaging camera. The Value version is available with NFC, UHF RFID reader, smartcard reader or a FLIR thermal imaging camera. Further options are: GPS, dual antenna connector.
