Ruggedness and Protection<\/strong>
Both devices are IP65\/IP68 certified and withstand multiple drops from 2.4 m across the full operating temperature range of -20 \u00b0C to +50 \u00b0C per MIL-STD-810H. At room temperature, drop resistance extends to 2.8 m. The devices are also resistant to common cleaning and disinfecting agents including isopropyl alcohol (70 %), ethyl alcohol and hydrogen peroxide (3 %).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scan Performance<\/strong>
Three scan engine options are available: Standard, Extended Range and Extra-Long Range imagers (DE2121-DL, DE2121-ER, DE2172), all supporting 1D and 2D barcodes. Datalogic’s patented Green Spot technology projects a visible confirmation directly onto the label upon a successful read \u2013 visible up to 10 m with the XLR imager. The TrueAim two-stage trigger enables precise aiming before the actual scan, reducing misreads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Display, Keyboard and Ergonomics<\/strong>
The 4.3-inch IPS display with WVGA resolution (480 \u00d7 800 px) and 600 nit brightness features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with optical bonding, ensuring clear visibility both indoors and in sunlight. Three backlit keyboard layouts are available: numeric (31 keys), functional numeric (41 keys) and alphanumeric (53 keys) \u2013 all designed for use with gloves. The field-detachable pistol grip allows quick, tool-free switching between handheld and gun-style configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connectivity<\/strong>
The Falcon X60 supports Wi-Fi 6\/6E (IEEE 802.11 a\/b\/g\/n\/ac\/ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. The Falcon X65 adds 3G\/4G LTE-Advanced and 5G NR (FR1, 3GPP Rel. 16), dual-band GNSS (L1+L5, GPS\/Galileo\/GLONASS\/BeiDou) and a barometer sensor. Both models support NFC per ISO 14443 and ISO 15693.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery and Charging<\/strong>
The removable Li-Ion battery offers a rated capacity of 7,000 mAh. Hot-swap functionality allows battery replacement without data loss or restart. In addition to contact charging, wireless charging via WPC Qi EPP (10 W) is supported, reducing mechanical wear on contacts and lowering maintenance requirements. Full backward compatibility with Skorpio X5 docking stations is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Software and Device Management<\/strong>
The Datalogic Mobility Suite covers security (Shield for Android security updates), configuration (Scan2Deploy, OEMConfig), development (SDKs for Java, Kotlin, Xamarin, .NET MAUI) and optimization (Battery Manager, Enterprise Battery Saver, Snap OCR). The Datalogic Connect platform enables remote device management and fleet monitoring.
