DPM codes can be attached directly to the object without a label by various methods. For example, they can be etched, lasered or embossed into the material. To read these codes you can not use a conventional scanner that reads 1D and 2D barcodes. Datalogic has created scanners with the PowerScan 9500-DPM Evo series that can decode exactly these codes. This includes the wireless PBT9500-DPM Evo.
