NEWLAND N7 CACHALOT PRO: Ergonomic Handheld for Warehousing, Logistics and Manufacturing

Unlike most handhelds currently on the market, the Newland N7 Cachalot Pro has a physical keyboard—a useful feature for certain workflows. There are 3 keyboard layouts to choose from: 29, 38 or 47 keys. The 4-inch touch display can be operated with fingers. Because of its narrowed shape toward the bottom, the mobile computer is comfortable to handle. There are scan keys on both sides of the device.

For efficient barcode capture, the N7 Cachalot Pro is equipped with a scan engine which can be chosen according to requirements: a standard-range imager for close ranges or a mid-range imager for longer distances. With Newland’s Acuscan technology, bar codes and QR codes can be accurately selected and captured from a pick list.

The N7 Cachalot Pro handheld computer is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It is available with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. In addition, there is a Wi-Fi-only version available with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. An SD/TF card slot allows storage expansion by up to 128 GB. The terminal runs the Android 10 operating system.

Wireless connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G (optional). The mobile computer is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera.

Because of its robust hardware, the Newland N7 Cachalot Pro is suitable for difficult environmental conditions. It can withstand drops from a height of 1.8 m and is protected against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with protection class IP65. The operating temperature range is between -20 °C and +55 °C.

The N7 Cachalot Pro data terminal is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used continuously for up to 15 hours. It is possible to change the battery while the device is running (hot-swap function). By connecting up to four charging stations, a flexible multi-charging station can be created.
